About this exercise

A push-up variation performed with the hands in a fist position (on the knuckles), allowing a fuller range of motion at the wrist and reducing wrist extension strain. The chest and triceps are trained through the full pressing movement while the fists provide a stable, neutral wrist alignment.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a high plank position with your fists on the floor, knuckles facing down and wrists aligned under your shoulders
  • Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels with your core braced
  • Lower your chest toward the floor by bending your elbows at roughly a 45-degree angle from your torso
  • Continue until your chest is just above the floor
  • Press back up through your fists to full arm extension
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
