About this exercise

The wind side twist jump is a dynamic plyometric exercise that combines a lateral jump with a rotational twist at the peak of the movement. It challenges explosive leg power, oblique engagement, and overall coordination, making it effective for athletic conditioning and core power development.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and arms at your sides
  • Bend your knees slightly and load your hips to prepare for the jump
  • Explode upward and to one side, swinging your arms across your body to generate rotational momentum
  • At the peak of the jump, twist your torso in the direction of the jump
  • Land softly on both feet, absorbing the impact through your knees and hips
  • Immediately load for the next jump, reversing direction and twisting to the opposite side
  • Continue alternating sides for the target number of reps
