EasyCoreObliques

About this exercise

A standing mobility drill performed with a wide foot stance that isolates rotation through the thoracic spine to improve upper-back mobility and reduce stiffness. Keeping the hips stable while rotating trains the obliques and back muscles to work in proper coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet significantly wider than shoulder-width, toes pointing slightly outward
  • Place hands behind your head with elbows flared out to the sides
  • Engage the core and keep the hips facing forward throughout the movement
  • Exhale and rotate the upper body to one side as far as you can without moving the hips
  • Hold the end position for a moment, feeling the stretch through the mid-back and obliques
  • Return to center and rotate to the opposite side with the same controlled tempo
  • Alternate sides for the desired number of repetitions, keeping the lower body still
