About this exercise

The Weighted Round Arm is a shoulder exercise in which the arms move in a large circular arc while holding a weight plate, engaging all three deltoid heads through a compound rotational path. It primarily targets the anterior deltoid, with secondary activation of the lateral and rear deltoids. This movement improves shoulder mobility and muscular endurance while building definition.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a weight plate with both hands in front of your thighs
  • Keep a slight bend in your elbows and your core engaged throughout
  • Raise the plate in a wide circular arc—up and out to the side, overhead, then back down in front
  • Control the movement through the full circle, maintaining tension on the shoulders
  • Complete the desired number of full circles in one direction
  • Reverse the direction for the next set
