About this exercise

A weighted neck strengthening exercise performed lying on a bench or mat, where a weight plate is held on the forehead while flexing the neck forward. It directly targets the neck flexor muscles and can improve neck stability and injury resistance.

How to Perform

  • Lie face up on a bench with your head and neck hanging off the edge
  • Place a weight plate on your forehead, holding it in position with both hands
  • Start with your head tilted back in a neutral or slightly extended position
  • Slowly curl your chin toward your chest, flexing the neck forward through the full comfortable range
  • Pause briefly at the top of the movement with the neck fully flexed
  • Lower your head back down in a controlled manner to the starting position
