HardQuadriceps

About this exercise

A squat variation performed while standing on an elevated surface such as weight plates, allowing a greater range of motion and deeper knee flexion than a standard squat. The added depth increases quad and glute activation through an extended stretch.

How to Perform

  • Place weight plates flat on the floor and stand on them with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Hold a barbell across your upper back or hold dumbbells at your sides for external load
  • Brace your core, keep your chest tall, and your heels fully supported on the plates
  • Descend into a full squat, allowing your hips to drop well below knee level
  • Keep your knees tracking over your toes and your torso as upright as possible
  • Drive through your heels to return to a fully standing position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
