About this exercise

The Weighted Bottle Russian Twist with Legs Off Floor is a rotational core exercise that targets the obliques and abs by holding a water bottle and twisting side to side while balancing with feet elevated off the ground. Keeping the legs raised removes the base of support and significantly increases the difficulty compared to the standard version.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with knees bent and feet lifted a few inches off the ground
  • Lean your torso back slightly to form a V-shape with your thighs, keeping your spine long
  • Hold a water bottle with both hands in front of your chest
  • Rotate your torso to the right, bringing the bottle close to the floor beside your hip
  • Return to center, then rotate to the left side
  • Keep your feet off the floor throughout and control the movement with your core
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions
