About this exercise

A dynamic hip mobility drill performed facing a wall for balance. Swinging the leg laterally across the body and out to the side opens the hip adductors and abductors while improving lateral hip range of motion and joint health.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place both hands on it at about chest height
  • Shift your weight onto one leg and lift the other foot slightly off the floor
  • Swing the raised leg out to the side as high as comfortably possible
  • Swing it back across the body in front of the standing leg
  • Keep your torso stable and avoid tilting side to side during each swing
  • Continue for the desired number of reps, then switch sides
