About this exercise

A dynamic hip mobility drill performed standing next to a wall for balance support. Swinging the leg forward and backward through its full range of motion actively loosens the hip flexors, glutes, and hamstrings while improving overall hip joint mobility.

How to Perform

  • Stand sideways next to a wall and place one hand on it for balance support
  • Shift your weight onto the leg closest to the wall and slightly soften that knee
  • Keep the swinging leg straight and swing it forward as high as comfortably possible
  • Allow the leg to swing back behind you in a smooth, controlled arc
  • Keep your torso upright and prevent the hips from rotating with each swing
  • Continue for the desired number of reps, then switch sides
