About this exercise

A dynamic lower-body movement that combines a forward walking lunge with an exaggerated high knee drive on each step. The exercise challenges leg strength, hip flexor mobility, balance, and cardiovascular endurance simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with your feet together and core engaged
  • Step forward with your right foot and lower into a lunge until both knees are at about 90 degrees
  • Push through the front heel to rise, simultaneously driving the back knee up high in front of your body
  • Step that raised foot forward to transition into the next lunge on the opposite side
  • Continue alternating legs and walking forward for the desired number of reps or distance
  • Keep your torso upright and your core tight throughout the movement
