About this exercise

The V-Up with Clap is a full-body core exercise that combines a simultaneous leg raise and upper-body crunch, bringing your hands together to clap at the peak position. It challenges the entire abdominal wall while requiring coordination and hip flexor strength. The clap cue reinforces achieving full range of motion at the top.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with your arms extended overhead and legs straight
  • Engage your core and simultaneously raise both legs and your upper body off the floor
  • Reach your arms forward to clap your hands together near your feet at the top of the movement
  • Hold the V-shape for a brief moment, squeezing your abs
  • Slowly lower your legs and upper body back to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
