About this exercise

The V-Up is a challenging bodyweight core exercise where you simultaneously raise your arms and straight legs to meet in the middle, forming a V-shape at the top. It targets the entire abdominal wall with a strong emphasis on the rectus abdominis and hip flexors.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with legs fully extended and arms stretched overhead on the floor
  • Press your lower back into the floor and engage your core
  • Simultaneously lift your legs and upper body off the floor in one smooth motion
  • Reach your hands toward your feet as you form a V-shape at the top
  • Hold briefly at the peak contraction, then slowly lower both arms and legs back to the starting position
  • Avoid bouncing — maintain a controlled, deliberate tempo throughout
