About this exercise

The Underhand Circle Draw is a standing shoulder mobility drill where the arms are extended and rotated in circular patterns with palms facing upward. The underhand (supinated) grip position engages the shoulder rotators and deltoids through a full range of motion. Regular practice improves shoulder joint mobility and warming up the rotator cuff.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, arms extended out to your sides at shoulder height
  • Turn your palms to face upward (underhand/supinated position)
  • Begin drawing slow, controlled circles with both arms simultaneously
  • Gradually increase the size of the circles over several repetitions
  • Reverse the direction of the circles after a set number of reps
  • Keep your shoulders relaxed and away from your ears throughout the movement
  • Maintain an upright posture and breathe steadily
