About this exercise

An advanced core exercise in which you raise your straight legs and upper body into a V-shape while holding a dumbbell in each hand, reaching them toward your feet at the top. The load in both hands increases the demand on the abs and on eccentric control on the way back down.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with your legs straight and arms extended overhead, holding a dumbbell in each hand
  • In one motion, raise your straight legs and upper body off the floor
  • Reach both dumbbells toward your feet at the top, forming a V-shape with your body
  • Slowly lower your legs and upper body back to the floor under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
