About this exercise

Twist and Leg Lift is a standing bodyweight core exercise that pairs a trunk rotation with a simultaneous leg raise to target the obliques, abs, and hip flexors. The movement also improves rotational strength and single-leg balance.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and hands on your hips or extended in front of you
  • Shift your weight onto one leg and lift the opposite knee up to hip height
  • Simultaneously rotate your torso toward the raised knee
  • Lower the leg while returning the torso to centre
  • Alternate sides in a controlled, rhythmic manner for the desired number of repetitions
