About this exercise

A bodyweight triceps exercise performed leaning on a barbell set low in a rack. With both hands on the bar and the body in a straight inclined line, you bend the elbows to lower your head below the bar, then press back up by extending the elbows — a bodyweight version of the overhead triceps extension. The lower the bar, the harder the exercise.

How to Perform

  • Set the bar low in the rack and grip it with both hands about shoulder-width apart
  • Walk your feet back until your body forms a straight inclined line
  • Bend your elbows and lower your head below the bar
  • Keep your body straight and your core tight
  • Press back up by fully extending your elbows
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
