About this exercise

The Touchdown Heel Tap Jump is an explosive plyometric exercise combining a deep squat touchdown with a powerful vertical jump and mid-air heel tap. It develops lower-body power, coordination, and cardiovascular conditioning simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Lower into a deep squat and touch the floor with both hands (touchdown position)
  • Explosively drive through your legs and jump as high as possible
  • At the peak of the jump, bring your heels together and tap them
  • Land softly with bent knees, absorbing the impact through your hips and ankles
  • Immediately lower back into the touchdown squat position
  • Repeat continuously at a controlled pace
