The top bottom punch squat is a full-body conditioning exercise that pairs a squat with alternating punching motions at both the top (standing) and bottom (squat) positions. It challenges the lower body, shoulders, and core while keeping the heart rate elevated for a cardiovascular benefit.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hands raised in a guard position at chin height
  • Throw two quick punches (one with each hand) at head level while standing upright
  • Lower into a squat by pushing your hips back and bending your knees to parallel
  • Throw two more punches at a lower level while holding the squat position
  • Drive through your heels to return to standing
  • Keep your chest up and your core braced throughout the movement
  • Maintain a steady, controlled rhythm, alternating punches with each squat cycle
