About this exercise

Tip toe walking is a simple bodyweight exercise where you walk on the balls of your feet with heels raised off the ground. It strengthens the calves, improves ankle stability, and can be used as a warm-up, rehabilitation drill, or low-intensity conditioning activity.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Rise up onto the balls of both feet, lifting your heels as high as comfortable
  • Maintain the elevated heel position throughout the movement
  • Walk forward in small, controlled steps while staying on your toes
  • Keep your core braced and gaze forward to maintain balance
  • Continue for the desired distance or duration, then gently lower your heels to the ground
