About this exercise

A bodyweight core exercise performed with the legs in tabletop position where you crunch upward and reach one arm forward to maximally contract the abdominals.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent to 90 degrees and shins parallel to the floor in tabletop position
  • Place your hands lightly behind your head with elbows wide
  • Exhale and curl your shoulders off the floor in a controlled crunch
  • At the top of the crunch, extend one arm forward, reaching toward your knees
  • Lower back down with control and alternate the reaching arm each repetition
  • Keep your lower back pressed into the floor and avoid pulling on your neck
