About this exercise

A dynamic plyometric conditioning drill that combines a rotational torso twist with a powerful knee drive. It challenges the obliques and core under rotational load while also training lower-body explosiveness and coordination, making it a popular addition to athletic warm-ups and metabolic circuits.

How to Perform

  • Start standing tall with feet shoulder-width apart and arms extended to the sides at shoulder height in a T position
  • Rotate your torso to one side while simultaneously driving the opposite knee upward toward the rotating elbow
  • Allow your hips and feet to pivot naturally as you twist
  • Return to the starting T position, then immediately rotate to the opposite side with the corresponding knee drive
  • Move at a brisk, controlled pace, maintaining balance on the standing leg
  • Keep the core engaged throughout and avoid collapsing the upper body
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of reps or time
