About this exercise

A plyometric squat jump performed while holding a suspension trainer for balance support, developing explosive lower-body power with the added stability benefit of the straps. The suspension allows athletes to focus on maximum power output and safe landing mechanics.

How to Perform

  • Hold the suspension trainer handles in front of you with arms lightly extended
  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and toes slightly turned out
  • Lower into a squat by pushing your hips back and bending your knees to roughly 90 degrees
  • Explosively drive through your heels to jump as high as possible
  • Land softly on the balls of your feet with knees slightly bent to absorb the impact
  • Immediately lower into the next squat upon landing
  • Use the straps for balance support only — avoid pulling yourself upward with your arms
