Suspender One Arm Biceps Curl

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Suspender One Arm Biceps Curl.

MediumBiceps

About this exercise

A unilateral biceps curl performed using a single suspension trainer strap. Gripping one handle with one hand, you lean back and curl your body upward with one arm at a time, increasing biceps isolation and adding an anti-rotation challenge to the core.

How to Perform

  • Set the suspension strap to about waist height and grip one handle with your palm facing up
  • Walk your feet forward to create an angle — the steeper the lean, the harder the exercise
  • Extend your working arm fully with your elbow held in front of you
  • Curl your hand toward your temple, pulling your body upward with one arm
  • Squeeze the biceps hard at the top and keep your body rigid and square
  • Slowly lower yourself back to the starting position with your arm fully extended
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
