About this exercise

The suspension trainer internal rotation targets the pectoralis major and anterior deltoid through a horizontal shoulder internal rotation movement. Using the suspension straps for resistance, this exercise also challenges core stability throughout the range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing away from the suspension trainer anchor point and grip the handles at shoulder height
  • Step forward to create tension in the straps, feet shoulder-width apart with a slight lean forward
  • Extend your arms out to the sides at shoulder level, palms facing down
  • Rotate your arms inward and forward, bringing your hands together in front of your chest
  • Squeeze your chest and hold briefly at the end range
  • Slowly reverse the movement back to the starting position with arms extended
