About this exercise

The suspension extended plank places the feet in suspension rings or straps and walks the hands far in front of the body, dramatically increasing the moment arm and core demand compared to a standard plank. This advanced hold builds exceptional anti-extension core strength and shoulder stability.

How to Perform

  • Set the suspension straps to a low position just above the floor and place both feet in the foot cradles
  • Come into a plank position with straight arms and hands on the floor directly under your shoulders
  • Walk your hands forward gradually until your arms are extended well ahead of your body
  • Lock your body into a rigid line from head to heels, bracing your abs, glutes, and shoulders tightly
  • Keep your hips level — do not allow them to sag toward the floor or pike upward
  • Hold for the desired duration, breathing steadily and maintaining full-body tension
