About this exercise

The Suspended Abdominal Fallout is an advanced core exercise performed with gymnastic rings or a suspension trainer. By extending the arms forward while keeping the body rigid, it produces intense anti-extension demand on the abs and deep core stabilizers — similar to an ab wheel rollout but with an elevated, unstable platform.

How to Perform

  • Set gymnastic rings or a suspension trainer to roughly hip height
  • Stand facing the anchor point and grip the handles with both hands, arms extended forward
  • Brace your core hard, maintaining a straight line from head to heels
  • Slowly hinge at the shoulders and allow your body to fall forward, extending your arms overhead
  • Keep your hips from sagging and your lower back from arching throughout the fall
  • Extend as far as you can control while maintaining spinal neutrality
  • Pull through your lats and abs to bring your arms back down and return to the starting position
