Supination Bar Suspension Stretch

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Supination Bar Suspension Stretch.

EasyBiceps

About this exercise

A hanging stretch performed from an overhead bar with a supinated (underhand) grip that lengthens the biceps and elbow flexors through combined shoulder flexion and elbow extension. Bodyweight provides natural traction through the shoulder and elbow joints.

How to Perform

  • Grip an overhead bar with both hands in a supinated grip (palms facing you), hands roughly shoulder-width apart
  • Step off or lift your feet so your body hangs freely with arms fully extended
  • Relax your shoulders and allow the elbows to straighten completely, deepening the stretch along the biceps and forearms
  • Hold the suspension for the desired duration while breathing calmly
  • Step or jump back to the ground carefully to dismount
