About this exercise

A prone neck and back extension exercise where you lift your head and upper chest off the floor in a controlled Superman-style movement, then lower back down until the chin gently touches the floor. This targets the neck extensors and lower back while also engaging the glutes.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on the floor with arms extended overhead or alongside your body
  • Engage your core and squeeze your glutes
  • Lift your head and upper chest off the floor, extending your neck upward
  • Hold briefly at the top of the movement
  • Lower your head back down with control until your chin lightly touches the floor
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
