Straight Leg Reverse Crunch

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Straight Leg Reverse Crunch.

EasyAbsCore

About this exercise

A reverse crunch performed with the legs kept straight: lying on the floor, you raise the straight legs to vertical and curl the pelvis up off the floor, targeting the lower portion of the abs. Keeping the knees extended lengthens the lever and makes the movement considerably harder than the bent-knee version.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with your legs extended and arms flat beside you
  • Raise your straight legs until they point toward the ceiling
  • Curl your pelvis up off the floor, pushing your feet toward the ceiling
  • Lower your hips and then your legs under control, without arching your lower back
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
