EasyFront shoulders

About this exercise

A targeted shoulder-mobility drill using a stick or wand to passively stretch and release tension in the subscapularis, the primary internal rotator of the shoulder. Regular practice helps restore external rotation range of motion and alleviate shoulder tightness.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright and hold a stick vertically in the hand on the side you want to stretch
  • Raise your elbow to shoulder height with the upper arm roughly parallel to the floor
  • Allow the forearm to hang down so the stick points toward the floor
  • Use your free hand to gently push the bottom of the stick forward and outward, externally rotating your shoulder
  • Hold the stretched position for 20–30 seconds, breathing deeply and letting the subscapularis relax
  • Release slowly and repeat on the same side before switching to the other arm
