A standing front raise performed with a stick or dowel instead of a weighted implement, making it ideal as a warm-up, corrective drill, or shoulder activation exercise. The light resistance of the stick allows full focus on controlled movement, upright posture, and proper anterior deltoid engagement.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a stick horizontally in front of your thighs with both hands
  • Keeping your arms straight, raise the stick forward to shoulder height or slightly above
  • Avoid shrugging your shoulders or leaning back as you lift
  • Pause briefly at the top
  • Lower the stick back to the starting position in a slow, controlled manner
