About this exercise

A shoulder mobility drill using a stick to guide and reinforce symmetrical arm abduction range of motion. Holding the stick horizontally ensures both arms move together, helping identify and correct side-to-side restrictions in the shoulder joint.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright and hold a stick horizontally with both hands, arms resting at your sides
  • Slowly raise both arms out to your sides, lifting the stick to shoulder height
  • Continue raising as far as your mobility allows, keeping the stick level throughout
  • Pause at the top of the range, then slowly lower your arms back to the starting position
