About this exercise

The Star Jump is a plyometric bodyweight exercise where you leap from a standing position and spread your arms and legs wide into a star shape at the peak of the jump before returning to land. It elevates heart rate, develops lower-body power, and improves coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Bend your knees slightly to load the legs
  • Jump explosively upward while simultaneously spreading both arms and legs wide into a star shape
  • Bring your arms and legs back together before landing
  • Land softly with feet together and knees slightly bent to absorb impact
  • Reset immediately and repeat at a steady rhythm
