About this exercise

The Standing Single-Leg Curl is a unilateral hamstring isolation exercise performed on a standing leg curl machine. By working one leg at a time, it helps correct strength imbalances between limbs and provides a strong hamstring contraction through a full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Adjust the standing leg curl machine pad height to align with the back of your ankle
  • Stand facing the machine and rest the front of your thigh against the support pad
  • Place your working ankle under the roller pad and keep your supporting leg slightly bent
  • Curl your working leg upward by bending the knee, bringing your heel toward your glutes
  • Squeeze the hamstring at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower the pad back to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one leg before switching to the other
