The standing single arm circle on a wall is a shoulder and upper back mobility drill performed by placing one hand on a wall and slowly circling the raised arm to open the thoracic spine and shoulder joint. It targets the rear deltoid, upper back, and surrounding rotator cuff musculature.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall at arm's length and place one hand flat on the wall at chest height
  • Extend the free arm out to your side, keeping it roughly parallel to the floor
  • Slowly draw a large circle with the free arm, moving it forward, overhead, behind you, and back down
  • Keep the hand on the wall steady to anchor your body as your thoracic spine rotates
