About this exercise

A standing oblique exercise in which you drive your elbow down toward the opposite raised knee, mimicking a lateral crunch while remaining upright. It effectively targets the obliques and lateral core without requiring any equipment.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hands placed lightly behind your head
  • Engage your core and keep your chest up throughout the movement
  • Lift your right knee up and to the side while simultaneously driving your right elbow down toward it
  • Squeeze the oblique at the point of contact between elbow and knee
  • Return to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Alternate sides for the prescribed number of reps
