A standing mobility stretch that targets the inferior capsule of the shoulder joint, improving overhead range of motion and relieving tightness from overhead activities or prolonged slouching. Perform one side at a time and hold the stretch for a steady duration.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Raise one arm straight overhead as high as possible
  • Reach the raised arm slightly across the midline to add gentle traction to the inferior capsule
  • Use the opposite hand to gently press down on the elbow of the raised arm, deepening the stretch
  • Keep the neck long and avoid shrugging the raised shoulder
  • Hold the stretch for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Lower the arm slowly and repeat on the other side
