About this exercise

A plyometric exercise performed from a standing position in which you jump and rapidly switch your legs in a scissoring motion mid-air. It develops explosive lower-body power and cardiovascular endurance while challenging coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Bend your knees slightly to load the jump
  • Explode upward, simultaneously splitting your legs — one leg forward, one leg back
  • Switch the position of both legs while in the air
