About this exercise

A standing side stretch with both arms overhead: one hand grasps the opposite wrist and pulls it over as the torso leans to the side, creating a long stretch from the hip through the lats and shoulder.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms at your sides
  • Reach your right arm overhead, palm facing inward
  • Slowly lean your upper body to the left, creating a long arc from fingertips to hip
  • Keep both feet flat on the floor and avoid rotating your torso
  • Hold the stretch for the desired duration, breathing steadily
  • Return to the upright position
  • Switch sides and repeat with the left arm
