About this exercise

Standing opposite touches is a dynamic coordination exercise where you alternately touch your right hand to your left foot and your left hand to your right foot while standing. It challenges balance, oblique engagement, and hip flexor mobility.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms at your sides
  • Shift your weight onto your right leg
  • Simultaneously lift your left foot forward and reach your right hand down to touch it
  • Return to the starting position with control
  • Shift your weight onto your left leg
  • Lift your right foot and reach your left hand to touch it
  • Continue alternating sides in a smooth, controlled rhythm
  • Keep your core braced and back flat throughout
