About this exercise

A plyometric drill performed standing that mimics the high-knee driving motion of climbing a vertical ladder. It builds cardiovascular fitness, lower-body power, and coordination while keeping the core actively engaged throughout.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet hip-width apart, core braced, and arms at your sides
  • Begin driving your right knee upward as if stepping onto a high rung, while pumping your left arm forward
  • Quickly switch, driving your left knee up while pumping your right arm forward
  • Maintain an upright torso and a quick, controlled alternating rhythm
  • Continue for the desired duration, increasing pace as coordination improves
