About this exercise

A unilateral standing front leg raise performed while holding a chair for balance support. The movement strengthens the quadriceps and hip flexors while also challenging core stability and postural control.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright beside a sturdy chair and hold the back of the chair with one hand for support
  • Shift your weight onto your supporting leg and keep a soft bend in that knee
  • With the working leg straight, slowly raise it forward to hip height or as high as comfortable
  • Pause briefly at the top, keeping the foot flexed
  • Lower the leg back down in a controlled manner without letting it touch the floor
  • Complete all repetitions on one leg, then switch sides
