About this exercise

A standing unilateral stretch that targets the calf muscles by leaning into a wall with one leg extended behind you. The wall provides balance support, making it easy to control the intensity of the stretch. It is one of the most effective and accessible ways to maintain calf flexibility.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place both hands flat against it at roughly chest height
  • Step one foot back into a comfortable lunge stance, keeping it flat on the floor
  • Keep the back knee straight and gently press the heel into the ground
  • Lean your hips slightly forward toward the wall until you feel a stretch in the back calf
  • Hold for the prescribed duration, then switch legs and repeat on the other side
