About this exercise

A bodyweight biceps exercise performed in a doorway where you grip the frame at about waist height and curl your body upward against the resistance of your own weight. It requires no equipment and is an effective way to train the biceps when weights are unavailable.

How to Perform

  • Stand in a doorway facing the door frame, gripping both sides at about waist height with palms facing you
  • Lean your body back slightly with arms extended and feet close to the base of the frame, creating an angle
  • Keep your core engaged and body straight throughout
  • Curl yourself toward the door frame by bending your elbows, bringing your chest close to the frame
  • Hold the contracted position briefly at the top
  • Slowly extend your arms to lower yourself back to the starting position
