About this exercise

A standing shoulder mobility drill performed with the back flat against a wall, mimicking a snow-angel arm movement to open the chest, activate the rear deltoids, and improve scapular control. It is widely used to correct rounded-shoulder posture and strengthen the muscles of the upper back.

How to Perform

  • Stand with your back, head, and heels against a wall and feet a few centimetres from the baseboard
  • Press your lower back and the back of your arms against the wall
  • Start with your elbows bent to 90 degrees at shoulder height, palms facing forward
  • Slide your arms upward along the wall as if making a snow angel, straightening them overhead
  • Keep your elbows, wrists, and the back of your hands in contact with the wall throughout
  • Slowly return your arms to the starting position and repeat
