About this exercise

A standing plyometric drill that mimics the pedalling motion of an air bike while alternately tapping each foot to the floor. The rapid alternating leg drive elevates the heart rate and trains coordination, hip flexors, and lower-body endurance.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms loose at your sides
  • Drive your right knee up toward your hip while simultaneously swinging your left arm forward
  • Quickly lower your right foot and tap the floor, then immediately drive your left knee up while swinging your right arm forward
  • Alternate legs in a smooth, rhythmic cycling motion, keeping a slight bend in the standing knee
  • Maintain an upright torso and engaged core throughout
  • Continue at a brisk pace for the target number of repetitions per side
