About this exercise

The Standing Ab Twist Wall Touch is a rotational core exercise performed next to a wall. You twist your torso from side to side, touching the wall behind you with both hands on each rep, which trains the obliques and rotational core strength through a full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand with your side close to a wall, feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Raise your arms in front of you at chest height
  • Rotate your torso toward the wall behind you and touch it with both hands
  • Rotate back through centre and continue twisting to the opposite side, touching the opposite wall or returning to centre
  • Keep your hips facing forward throughout the movement and let only the torso rotate
  • Repeat alternately for the prescribed number of reps
