About this exercise

A compound bodyweight exercise that flows from a deep squat directly into a push-up position on the floor, training the lower body and chest in one continuous movement. It builds functional strength, coordination, and muscular endurance.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Lower into a full squat, place your hands on the floor between your feet
  • Walk or jump your feet back into a push-up position
  • Perform one push-up, lowering your chest to the floor and pressing back up
  • Walk or jump your feet back toward your hands and return to the squat position
  • Stand tall to complete one rep

The Squat Press Up is a foundational movement that builds strength and muscle through controlled, progressive overload. Train it 1 to 2 times per week with 3 to 5 working sets per session, gradually adding weight or reps as form holds up.
