About this exercise

A unilateral lower-body exercise where one foot is pressed against a wall for support while you perform a split-squat movement. The wall contact helps maintain balance and keeps the torso upright, allowing you to focus on loading the front quadriceps and glutes through a deep range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing away from a wall and place the top of your rear foot flat against the wall at a comfortable height
  • Step the front foot forward enough that your front shin stays vertical when you lower down
  • Stand tall with your torso upright and core braced
  • Lower your rear knee toward the floor by bending both legs simultaneously
  • Descend until your front thigh is roughly parallel to the floor
  • Drive through your front heel to return to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching legs
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions per side
