About this exercise

The split jump to box is an advanced plyometric exercise that combines an explosive lunge jump with a box landing. Starting in a split stance, you drive upward and forward to land on an elevated box, developing lower-body power, coordination, and single-leg stability.

How to Perform

  • Stand in a staggered split stance with one foot forward and one foot back, about two feet in front of a sturdy box or step
  • Bend both knees into a partial lunge position to load the movement
  • Explode upward and forward simultaneously, extending through both hips, knees, and ankles
  • Land softly with both feet on the box, absorbing the impact by bending the knees
  • Stand up fully on the box to complete the rep
  • Step back down carefully and reset your stance before the next repetition
  • Alternate the leading leg each set to train both sides evenly
